Suryaputhri was a prime time soap telecasted by Asianet television channel from 2004 to 2006. The Mumbai based entertainment company Prime movies international entered into the Malayalam media industry through this mega serial.

Suryaputhri covered 398 episodes in two years and was broadcasted from Monday to Friday every week.Suryaputri is the story of Professor Menon and his daughters. The names of the daughters are as Kalyani & Devayani. Professor Menon was an over-protective, loving and caring father to his two beautiful daughters.
But certain unexpected events changed the flow of their peaceful lives and forced them to withstand several difficult circumstances. The serial includes murder mysteries and investigations along with the elements of family drama to appeal to a larger mass. The serial takes its viewers through several twists and turns of investigations and multiple suspects. Devyani along with another central character, Greeshma faces some serious threats from the villains and later moves on to become an I.P.S. Officer to fight against the evil forces.The cast include popular film actors like, Renjini and Baiju along with, Mukundan, Shiju, Sarath (film &serial artist), Anil Mohan, Seenath, Kanaka latha etc. Suryaputhri had very high TRP ratings for a long time and was directed by Srijith Paleri.
